Black and Silver Sea Trout Tube Fly
Materials
Tube: 40 mm stainless steel needle tube, external diameter
1.5mm
Wing: Dyed black squirrel tail with two strands of Krystal
Flash
A very simple and very effective sea trout lure
for those summer nights on the river
Step 1: Secure needle tube in
tube
fly vice and lay a short bed of red
thread
Step 2: Tie in two strands (one strand doubled) of Krystal Flash
Step 3: Tie in a bunch of black squirrel hair
Step 4: Rotate vice through 180 degrees and tie in a second bunch of
black hair opposite the first
Step 5: trim ends, form a neat head and finish with three coats of
Cellire No. 1 varnish
Step 6: Add a link of clear silicone tubing (bore 1.0mm) and a hook
of choice
